Jesus leads him out of his comfort zone

I find it funny that when Jesus cures a blind man (Mark 8:23) he leads him outside of town. For me, the town represents the blind man’s comfort zone. Even though he is blind he at least can feel his away around the buildings and know where he is. There will always be persons close by if he ever needs to call for help or ask for alms. For the little security this man had in his life the town was one of them. If a blind man goes outside the city he could get lost, robbed, injured… And this is exactly what Jesus takes him from. We all have our securities that can minimize the effects of our real sicknesses, it’s a sort of cover up. It’s our way of coping with an unpleasant situation and becomes our comfort zone. But when it comes time for real and true healing Jesus takes even that away…
